Stop Line

A stop line is a single white line painted across the road at an intersection. You must stop your vehicle before the stop line. Do not confuse the stop line with the sidewalk lines. Stop line is normally thicker than the sidewalk lines.

If there is no stop line marked on the road or stop line is not visible then you can stop at the crosswalk.

If there is no crosswalk then you can stop your vehicle at the edge of the sidewalk.

If there is no sidewalk then you should stop at the edge of the intersection.

Sometimes drivers ignore the stop line and stop their vehicles over the lines. This is not allowed, and it can put yourself and other road users at high risk of a collision.

Can you tell which car has stopped at the right place?
