Spacing: Front / behind / sides

You must ensure that the space beside you that you intend on moving into is sufficient so that you don’t take away others following space and that you have proper space yourself (2-3 Seconds). On a multilane roadway you must not lane change directly beside another car. Remember to maintain a space cushion around your vehicle at all times in order to avoid a traffic conflict. Improper spacing would be marked as a major error.
