Traffic check: No mirrors – No blindspot

A traffic check is another way of saying “Observe for Traffic”. The term is used extensively throughout the G2 Exit Test (G Test). The Ministry of Transportation and a DriveTest Examiner want to make sure you are very observant. This is important so that you do not have a collision or near collision known on this test as a “Traffic Conflict”. To do this properly, check your rear-view mirror, side-mirror and blind spot before committing to the turn. Failure to do one of these would be a minor mark, but if you have a traffic conflict or near conflict, such as nearly hitting a person, it could be cause for failure.
