As you merge into an open spot keep in mind the 2-3 second rule. In fact, you may want 4-6 seconds as speeds are significantly higher. You want a nice space cushion while entering the flow of the expressway. This is to avoid the potential of a collision and to not take away others space cushion. If you do not leave sufficient room, you might be subject to failing.
