Fails to look around / to rear before / while backing – mirror only

  1. This section is marked during your three-point turn (or turnabout). 
  1. It is very important to look around and behind the vehicle before moving so as not to hit anyone or anything. Hitting an object while reversing on a G2 Test would likely result in a Drivetest Examiner failing you. 
  1. Not looking around before reversing or using only your mirrors while reversing would be a major mark and doing it consistently could lead to a failure. 
  1. To do this properly you need to look 360 degrees around the vehicle, after which, you look out the back window. Normally you place your right hand behind the passenger seat or prop yourself up on the console that is between the front seats in order to see out the back window
